City of Athens Symphony Orchestra & Chorus
In this fascinating concert under the baton of internationally renowned conductor Alessandro Bonato, some of the world’s leading singers will be performing arias and ensembles from operas by Spontini, Cherubini, Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi. At the dawn of the French Revolution and the turn of the 19th century, Paris drew in many Italians, who were composing in the French style of “grand opéra”. The unparalleled charm and enthralling power of their works will come across through the performances of Catherine Hunold, the warmly acclaimed Soeur Béatrice in the opera by Dimitri Mitropoulos, the sought-after tenor Dmitry Korchak and the prominent bass Riccardo Fassi.
